This female nude sculpture reminiscent of the early Mable works of the continental European Neo-Classical style and the Belle Eqoque Art Deco figural style of design.
Glinsky born in Russia in 1895 studied at Columbia University and later at the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design and was then awarded a prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship.
His artworks and sculpture, in the tradition of the direct carvers or (taille direct), have been promoted in many notable exhibitions including those held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, Chicago Institute of Art, Brooklyn Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art.
